Chile Salvation Army Disaster Relief In the wake of the devastating earthquake in Chile, the Salvation Army is asking donors to assist relief efforts by texting “CHILE” to 52000 on their mobile phones. The text message will automatically provide a one time $10 donation to disaster relief efforts in Chile. | April 10 | Huntsville Walk MS Huntsville Walk MS is scheduled for Saturday, April 10, 2010, at the beautiful Botanical Garden. Check-in opens at 8:30 am and the walk begins at 9:30 am. The celebration will continue after the walk with refreshments, announcements and awards. There is no registration fee to participate in Walk MS, instead we ask each participant to set a personal fundraising goal. Each participant who fundraises $125 or more will receive the official Walk MS T-Shirt and those who go above and beyond will also be eligible for other great prizes! Funds raised at events such as Walk MS allow the Chapter to continue providing programs and services for over 4,000 Alabamians living with MS, including support groups, educational programs, Children’s Camp and emergency financial aid. | June 3-6 | TAKE THE STAGE The Whole Backstage Theatre announces auditions for the second TAKE THE STAGE amateur talent competition this summer, for amateur performers of all kinds from Alabama and surrounding states.The 2010 TAKE THE STAGE talent competition will take place in June at the Whole Backstage Theatre in Guntersville, with preliminary rounds on June 3, 4, and 5, with the final competition round on Sunday, June 6. The contest is open to individuals and groups – age eight (8) years and up. Talent can be any type of amateur entertainment (singing, dancing, bands/ instrumental music, martial arts, comedy, dramatic performance, etc.) suitable for a family audience. The TAKE THE STAGE talent competition is a fundraising event for the Whole Backstage Theatre.
